Events safety
We support and encourage the staging of events in Cape Town – large and small, commercial or not for profit. In line with our city’s focus on safety, we require that all events have the necessary safety and security measures in place to ensure the safety of the event’s participants and spectators.
Event safety plans
The following safety plans need to be in place and submitted with your application before we will issue a permit for your event:
- Medical plan
- Security plan
- Evacuation plan
- Temporary structure approval
Our events application guideline document states clearly that all plans and permissions should be in place before an event is approved, including all safety and security measures. For more information, see our documents below.
